Victoria Conference Centre celebrates its 15th year in business

VICTORIA - Today the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC) marked 15 successful years in business and celebrated the milestone with the installation of new banners outside the Centre. The banners depict the new brand identity that was developed for the Centre last fall.

"We are projecting a buoyant year ahead and are on target to deliver over $40 Million in direct economic impact to Victoria through conferences and meetings this year," said John Hill, General Manager of the Victoria Conference Centre.

2003 delegate day numbers totaled 107,675, slightly ahead of 2002 numbers. The VCC is projecting approximately 108,000 delegate days for 2004.

Building on a solid sales track record, the VCC has developed a strategy to attract more US and international delegates to the City capitalizing on Victoria's image as a secure, cost effective and highly desirable venue for conferences.

Last week the VCC hosted 600 delegates of the World Critical Illness Conference. Other conferences for 2004 include: Western Canada Turfgrass Annual Conference (Feb), Privacy and Security in e-Commerce Conference (Feb), Species at Risk (Mar), National Council on Public History (Apr), 2004 e-Health Conference (May), Canadian Association of Family Enterprise Annual Conference (May), Canadian Library Association Annual Conference (Jun), American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (Jul), World Climate Research Programme (Aug), Pro Walk/Pro Bike 2004 (Sep), North American Lake Management Society International Symposium (Nov), and Northwest Fish Culture Conference (Dec).
