The City
To realize Victoria you must take all that the eye admires in Bournemouth, Torquay, the Isle of Wight, the Happy Valley at Hong Kong. Sorrento and Camp's Bay - add reminiscences or the Thousand Islands and arrange the whole around the Bay of Naples with some Himalayas for the background -Rudyard Kipling

It's hard to believe this is Canada. Victoria's climate is "sub-Mediterranean" - that means it's moderate all year-round. This is due to our island location, warmed by Pacific winds. Average daytime temperatures, May through September, range from 15°C (60°F) to 26°C (80°F), with lots of sunshine. From October through April, average daytime temperatures range from about 4.4°C (40°F) to 15°C (60°F).

And rain? This may be the great Pacific Northwest, but at 66 cm (26 inches), Victoria gets substantially less of the watery stuff than our neighbours, Vancouver (45 inches) and Seattle (39 inches.) Less even than Toronto and New York.
