The Centre

The VCC provides just the right space for meetings of many sizes - small enough to be intimate, but able to handle conferences as large as 1,500 delegates.

We have 73,000 square feet of meeting space, 16 multi-purpose meeting rooms, a large exhibit hall, and a 400-seat lecture theatre. You'll be struck by our comfort, bright, airy spaces, welcoming atmosphere, and technological capabilities.

A two-level underground parking garage is available for up to 310 vehicles.

In 2007 the City of Victoria successfully won a bid to take over the former Crystal Garden building in Victoria, BC as expanded space for the Victoria Conference Centre. The Crystal Garden building is an historic landmark originally designed by Francis Rattenbury and inspired by the famous Crystal Palace built for London's 1851 Great Exposition and the Palm House at Kew Gardens. The heritage building opened in June 1925 as the largest salt water swimming pool in the Empire. The conservatory building also housed leafy tea gardens and two dance floors. It was a most popular social centre for the city for decades and a haunt for many celebrities in its heyday including Johnny Weissmuller of Tarzan fame who set a 100 yard freestyle world indoor record in the pool in 1925. In later years the building was home to exotic animals and tropical gardens.

The Victoria Conference Centre has restored the facility to its former glory and has completed an extensive renovation of the space. Located directly across the street from the Victoria Conference Centre, this adjacent building adds 25,000 sq. ft. of additional meeting space to the Victoria Conference Centre including a banquet/exhibit level and a mezzanine. This addition has created a total of 73,000 sq. ft. of meeting space available for conference groups visiting Victoria and utilizing the Victoria Conference Centre. The Crystal Garden opened for conferences in late 2008.
